The Path to Belonging

Last week's Ski Hill Hike!

Dear Trinity, Last week, we had our first “Summer Fun” Event. And lemme tell you…it was RAINY and SUPER fun :) It was a joy to walk together in the (very) green surroundings and then sit down for a casual meal while talking with new friends and old. I’m looking forward to the rest of these events where we get to spend time more leisurely as a church, in knowing and being known. I’m looking forward to the rest of these events where we get to spend time more leisurely as a church, in knowing and being known. The next Summer Fun event will be June 12th - Talent / No Talent Night! Take a moment to think about something cool or weird or beautiful that you can offer to make people smile. This will be low-key and with lots of room for everything from silly to serious… To put your name in as a performer, sign up here. Speaking of that, we just refreshed our Path to Belonging in a way that we think is more natural to how the journey here at Trinity really unfolds. If you’re new, and even if you’ve been here a long time, I encourage you to check it out and see which step you’re on, and what invitation you might be sensing as your next step to belonging to this church. Maybe it’s meeting me for coffee and asking some questions about our church and what life at Trinity looks like (by the way, if you’re not new, you’re welcome to use that same link to set up a meeting with me about anything.) Maybe you haven’t yet been to a Newcomers Dinner, and you’re really craving community as well as barbecued meat. Well…don’t wait! Sign up here. Maybe you’re not on a ministry team, and you’ve been looking for a place to use your gifts and meet other people. Let us know what you’re interested in, and we can get in touch. By the way, thanks to everyone who signed up to serve this summer. We still are in need of 2 more nursery volunteers (once a month, serving for 30 minutes during the sermon), and we need 2 more people on our fellowship team (brewing fresh coffee and setting out donuts… once a month). So either fill out this form or get in touch with us by just hitting reply to this email and letting us know you’d like to help with those needs I mentioned. Lastly, for those who have been wanting to join a seasonal small group, we are gearing up to offer an 8-week Godspeed Group in late June, and then another in the Fall. These groups are kind of like "Trinity 101." They give you a picture of our church's values and how we strive to live. It’s also a great place to meet other people and start relationships. So… more on that later. Stay tuned! God’s peace be with you as we journey together. And I hope to see you at one of our upcoming events (listed below)! Sincerely, Carson+

Text: 1 Sam 18-20 Chapter: Friendship - David and Jonathan Preacher: Andrew Ray

Proverbs tell us that friendships, good friendships, are vital to living a good life. Do you agree? Take a moment and think about the friends you have had in your life. How did you know they were your friends? What qualities did they have? Take a moment and thank God for the gift of friends in your life... Fools in Proverbs perish for a lack of friends or for having the wrong friends. Did you know that Jesus called his disciples friends? Do you think Jesus would be a good friend to you? Remember that Jesus calls you a friend if you do what he commands you.
