Preparing for Pentecost

The Sanctuary turns RED for Pentecost this Sunday

Dear Trinity Church,

"Wait," Jesus said to his first disciples.

"Wait, and you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you." (see Acts 1:4, 1:8)

Last week, I preached about how we wait for this power; it's simply to join together with one accord and pray. (See Acts 1:14....)

Would you join me in preparing for Pentecost by waiting on God in prayer, anticipating His empowerment and refreshment, and growing in expectation for what He's going to do in and among us?

This Sunday, Father Matt will take us to the next part in the Acts story, which is the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-12). Together, we'll explore what it means to be filled with the Spirit.

But in anticipation of Sunday, would you take a 1-minute pause with me right now?

Take three deep breaths:

  • first breath: "In the name of the Father..."

  • second breath: "In the name of the Son..."

  • third breath: "In the name of the Holy Spirit..."

And now say:

  • Holy Spirit, I need your empowerment for my ordinary life. I cannot live by my strength alone. Would you come and fill me with your power and presence? In Jesus' name, Amen.

Upcoming Dates

May 23: PENTECOST

After the 9:15am service, join us for a mini-pilgrimage / sending to Methow Park for some fellowship time over coffee and donuts.

May 30: Trinity Sunday w/ Bishop Ken ( + Confirmations in the Evening)

Bishop Ken Ross will be preaching at our services on May 30th. In the evening from 6-7:30pm, he will be confirming 18 people. Because there are so many friends, family, and supporters of the Confirmands attending this service, we have already reached our size capacity for the sanctuary. We wish we could have everyone here!
