The End of David and the Beginning of...
Dear Trinity, First off - thank you to everyone who contributed to Matt and Julie’s welcome home basket! It is such a delight to see all the goodies and notes and gifts in there. Actually, it was overflowing (!), which is a great image for them of how much we love them and are glad they’re home. We plan to give it to them later this week, to enjoy as they acclimate to being back in Wenatchee. Matt’s first Sunday back at Trinity will be the 11th of September. That same day (11th Sept) will also be the last day of the David series. I’d just like to thank you for engaging this summer as we focused on David’s life and ultimately, Jesus’ life. As we re-visited these familiar stories, we’ve been challenged to see with new eyes and meditate on the beauty and power of Jesus Christ. The week after we end the David series, we gather at Ingalls Creek on Sunday, September 18th @ 10:30am for a special worship service followed by several river baptisms and a lunch feast! Sign up details here (or scroll down below for more). Then on September 25th, Pastor Matt will start a new series on the Book of Hebrews! Stay tuned for more details on that. During the whole month of September, our 8 small groups are launching progressively, at different times. Have you signed up for one yet? Please visit the small groups page to see all the groups and sign up for one. Looking forward to this Fall, Carson+
Scripture: 2 Samuel 22 Chapter: Chapter 19: Theology — David and God Preacher: Carson Leith
We’ve come to the end of 1 & 2 Samuel (and David’s life), and it's no surprise to us to find David’s poetry here, telling how God has faithfully delivered him time and again. This week, we’ll explore the beginning of this poem as well as a parable from Jesus about prayer and deliverance. Service Times: 8:30 and 9:45
Baptism and Feast at Ingalls Creek September 18 @ 10:30am
Baptism Sunday is coming! We will hold this year’s baptism service at Ingalls Creek at 10:30am (with a lunch feast to follow). If you’re interested in getting baptized, or having your child baptized, email Carson at firstname.lastname@example.org. There will be baptism preparation gatherings on September 6th & 13th at 7:30pm with Pastor Matt (also good for people exploring baptism). If you’d like to help with the feast, we need 2 people for setup (9am call time), 2 people for parking, and 2 for cleanup. Please simply reply to this email if you’re interested! If you’d just like to attend, all the info is HERE. It would be so helpful if you could register so we can plan for food!
Newcomers Dinner September 24 @ 6-8pm
If you are new to our church in the last year, and haven't attended one of our newcomers dinners, we'd love to meet you and share stories around a dinner table at a host home in our parish. Come meet other newcomers as well as one of our pastors and staff members, and find out how you can take the next step in your path to belonging at Trinity Church.
