Midway Along the Journey of Our Life...

Dear Trinity,

We are at the midway point of many things… (and isn’t that true of how life usually feels?)

Here’s three of them:

David series - We turn this week to 2 Samuel 1, and the topic of Grief and Lament. David responds to the death of Saul and his best friend Jonathan by composing Hebrew poetry. I look forward to sharing the message this week, especially in light of the continuing hard news around the nation.

Evensong - the girls are about halfway through their trip! Instagram updates here. Rachel Madson sent me the photo below the day they left, saying this:

"We are off! Evensong Girls will meet up with Canlis girls in London on Saturday evening and then we take a train to Hereford Sunday to meet up with Matt and Julie. Please tell our lovely church family we are so thankful for their love and support and we will send updates along the way!”

Summer of Fun: See the updated and expanded details for the next two events below

And now, for a couple more important things:

Worship in the Parish - follow up: This Sunday, we will get to hear a few testimonies from people who visited other churches in our valley. I look forward to hearing from them!

News Article re: Building Transfer: And did you see this article from the Wenatchee World about WBBC and Trinity? It covers the story of how the Brethren have handed off the stewardship of this building to us...

We’re Hiring: Part-Time Custodian. Come September, our custodian will be transitioning to a different job. Are you interested (or do you know someone who would be) in a part-time custodian/handyman position? We need to find someone by mid-August. Please contact me at carson@trinitywenatchee.org or 509.881.7737.

Welcome to the Process!

Conversational Spanish and Culture Group Thursdays 12:00-1:00 pm @ Trinity Church July 7 - August 4

For the next five weeks, Ingalls Creek Fellows, Meredith Navarro and Isaac Price, will lead a lunchtime lesson about Mexican culture and basic conversational Spanish. This is a drop in group but coming each week is really beneficial. Please join us for this wonderful opportunity!

BBQ at Walla Walla Park

Next Sunday July 17 - After Second Service

Next Sunday (July 17th) right after the second service we will all head over to Walla Walla park and meet at Shelter Number Two (the one on the south end of the park, see map below) for a bbq lunch. Please RSVP online and, if you can, bring a side and dessert to share. You also may want to bring bug spray because the mosquitoes are bad this year!

Family Camp at Tall Timbers

August 12-14

Last week we opened registration for Family Camp which will be August 12-14th at Tall Timbers. Registration will be closed on July 31st so please be sure to register online before then. Here are a few things to consider about the weekend:

- You do not have to have a family or bring your family to come to the weekend.Singles, married folks, and families are all welcome. During the three teaching sessions there will be childcare provided for kids ages 2-10.

- The sleeping arrangements are somewhat flexible: you can request to have a cabin with only your family, you can ask for a room just for yourself, or you can let us know if you don’t mind sharing. We will try our best to work with your requests.

- We also want to share with you that we think family camp is so important that the church is covering half the price for everyone. Once you register, the prices reflected are half the actual cost of the weekend. We value this weekend and we want to make it as affordable as possible for all to come! If this price is still too high for your family please let us know and we will gladly help out! If you would like to sponsor a family to come who may be having financial difficulty please also let us know.

Small Miracles Update

Small Miracles @ Methow Park had a wonderful couple of weeks! The word is getting out and we are glad to be a part of this important service to our parish.

We served around 15 lunches each day and we are having fun partnering with Israel, from Pinnacles Prep, who meets us at the park to pick their lunch cooler.

The team of 15 Trinity Church volunteers is AMAZING! Feel free to drop by Methow Park between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm to say hi. If you have children, they are welcome to a free lunch!
