Endings & Beginnings
Dear Trinity, Tonight at 6:30 we celebrate the end of our 40-day pilgrimage of prayer with pizza and story-sharing at the church! We hope to see you there. And this Sunday concludes our 4-week series on the Drama of Scripture, where we've been learning what it looks like to accept God's invitation to play our part, being guided by His Son, and receiving the help of the Spirit to step into improv on a daily basis. This SUNDAY:
Stick around after 2nd service to hear an update from the Moldovan missionaries who visited us last year.
Evensong at 6pm. Followed by an all-youth gathering at 6:30pm
Join the Wednesday Night Bible Study w/ Nicole and Pastor Matt, here at the church, from 7-8pm. We'll converse over the week's readings in the lectionary
Last month, we ran out of physical prayer booklets. If you weren't able to get one, we have printed some fresh copies for those that would like to join us as we continue praying and reading God's Word together.
Fall Solitude Opportunities
Do you feel called to deeper solitude with God? Has the 40-day prayer vigil and your time “Sitting with Jesus” cultivated a yearning for more stillness? Or perhaps you are still in the curious stage of wanting to learn more about silence and solitude? Two opportunities will meet you in either place this fall. For the yearning, Trinity will be holding an Advent solitude retreat December 8-10 at Ingalls Creek Retreat Center. This is an opportunity to touch a deeper stillness as we practice silence and solitude together as the body of Christ.
For the curious, Trinity is offering the Solitude Practice this fall from Practicing the Way. This is a four-week group gathering on Thursdays online from 8-9 pm. (Starting 11/2)
Of course, the yearning are also welcome to sign up for the Solitude Practice. In fact, the practice group and retreat would ideally be done together. In any case, you are invited in these shortening days of Ordinary Time leading up to Advent, to move into a deeper intimacy with God through this ancient way of Solitude. Please reach out to Guy Evans at 509-670-3608 if you have questions about either opportunity.
Altar Guild Q&A and Get-to-Know-You Dinner
Sunday, November 5 @ 5:30pm
Do you currently help set-up or clean-up the altar on Sunday morning? Do you help serve communion? Are you interested in joining any of those volunteer teams?
If you have ever wondered about what is involved to serve on an altar guild, or simply wondered about altar guild in general (i.e. the history, the colors, the strange names for all the parts that make up altar guild, etc.), then please join Jessica Hall, our new director of Trinity's Altar Guild, for a Q&A / Getting-to-Know-You dinner.
Let's Have the Sex Talk
Friday, November 10th @ 6:30pm
Save the Date! This November, Trinity Church will begin a conversation around the important topic of sex. And because this is not a "one and done" talk, we will continue the conversation over the next several months. The first topic is: Talking with Your Children About Sex This conversation is for the whole church - couples, singles, elders, grandparents!
If you have a personal need (like a job, or housing, etc.), an event you’d like to promote, or something you’d like our church body to be aware of, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org for us to review before posting.
